Reactions to governmental priorities
In December 2010, the government of Québec announced consultations around the second action plan on Equality between women and men. The RQCALACS was invited to present at the commission and submitted a brief entitled La tolérance sociale, complice de la violence et de l'exploitation sexuelle.
On February the 1, 2011, the RQCALACS went to their audition in front of the commission and put forward issues such as sexist publicity, the need for a public campaign of awareness, the training of the police, honour crimes, prevention of sexual assaults, waiting lists in the CALACS and prostitution.
The Regroupement québécois des Centres d’aide et de lutte contre les agressions à caractère sexuel (RQCALACS) and its members will mark the 38th Day of Action on Sexual Violence against Women this Friday, September 20th, by launching a new tool to raise awareness about factors placing women in contexts of vulnerability to sexual violence.
